Method 1: ChatGPT in a second tab
This works with any ChatGPT plan, including free. It's the right choice if you only answer a handful of comments a week.
- Open a new ChatGPT chat and paste the setup prompt below once, with your details filled in.
- For each comment, copy the comment text, paste it into the chat, and copy the reply back to Facebook.
- Read the reply before you post it, especially anything about prices, stock or delivery.
A setup prompt that works
Generic prompts give generic replies. This one tells ChatGPT who it is, what it knows, and what it must not do:
You reply to comments on the Facebook Page of [business name], a [what you sell] in [city/country].
Facts you can use: [prices, delivery times, opening hours, return policy, website].
Rules:
- Reply in the same language as the comment.
- 1 to 2 sentences. No hashtags. Emojis only if the commenter used them.
- If someone complains, apologise once and ask them to send a private message with their order number.
- If you don't know an answer from the facts above, say we'll reply by private message. Never invent prices or dates.
I'll paste one comment at a time. Reply with the answer text only.
The last two rules matter most. Without them, ChatGPT will cheerfully invent a delivery time that sounds plausible.
Where this method breaks down
- Context. ChatGPT doesn't see the post. A comment like "is it still available?" is meaningless without knowing what "it" is, so you end up pasting the post too.
- Images. Stickers, GIFs and photo comments have to be downloaded and uploaded to get a sensible reply.
- Time. Each comment takes about 30 to 60 seconds of switching tabs, copying and pasting. On a post with 40 comments, that's most of your morning.
Method 2: an extension that does it inside Business Suite
AI Meta Suite is a Chrome extension built for exactly this job. It puts an AI button next to every comment in Meta Business Suite. One click writes the reply straight into Facebook's reply box. You check it and send.
It uses an OpenAI model (GPT-4o mini) too, so reply quality is in the same family as ChatGPT. The difference is the workflow:
| ChatGPT in a tab | AI Meta Suite | |
|---|---|---|
| Steps per comment | Copy, switch tab, paste, copy, switch back, paste | One click |
| Sees the post | Only if you paste it | Starter and Pro: after one "Scan AI Context" click |
| Stickers, GIFs, photos | Download and upload each one | Read automatically, all plans |
| Your rules and facts | Re-paste the setup prompt in each new chat | Saved once, up to 5 prompts (Starter and Pro) |
| Language | Follows your prompt | Matches each comment automatically |
| Cost | Free, or $20/month for ChatGPT Plus | Free for 20 replies a month, then $3.99 or $9.99 |
You can reuse the setup prompt above: paste it into a saved prompt in the extension (Starter and Pro), and add {{post_context}} where you want the scanned post text to go.
Which should you use?
If you answer fewer than 10 comments a week, ChatGPT in a tab is fine and costs nothing extra. If comments are a daily job, or you manage several Pages, the extension saves real hours, and the Free plan lets you check that before paying.
